The following information is intended as a guide to highlight various provisions of the 7th Edition for One and Two Family dwellings that pertain to structural design. This is not intended to be complete or to cover all provisions. Many of these comments paraphrase the requirements and are my interpretation or the regulation. This document and attached sketches are advisory only; the reader should consult and review the code for all provisions and reach their own interpretation of the regulation. The Local Building Inspector who has the sole responsibility and authority for interpretation of the code should be consulted for any required clarification and definitive interpretations.
